SHINGO AND I AT THE SLOW FOOD ROCKS CONCERT!!

Last weekend was filled with music! I loved it. I love live shows, but I rarely find myself going to concerts.
On Thursday, August 28, a few of us girls wento to Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco. It was such a cute little venue/lounge. All dimmed in red lights with a bar and small restaurant that served good french fries! :) I had heard of Jason Reeves once before because he use to do a lot of music with Colbie Caillat. I enjoyed his songs a lot. Then it was time for Tyrone. Jenni and I ended up being in the front row. It was so much fun.
On Saturday, August 30th, my friend Shingo took me to the Slow Food Rocks concert in San Francisco. I have known Shingo for 13 years! It's so crazy, he use to be one of my Tae Kwon Do/Kickboxing teachers, but now we're wonderful friends! I was so glad he invited me to go. Medeski Martin and Wood played first. The band consists of one drummer, one bassist (he played both electric and stand up bass) and a keyboarder. (Is keyboarder a real word?) The music was amazing. I have never seen people get so into their music and their instrument! After them, The New Pornographers played. I didn't take any pictures of them, and actually didn't really listen because I was too busy eating lunch! Following them was Ozomatli. They are an awesome band that is latin influenced with a little bit of hip hop, pop, cumbea, etc. They put on such a neat show. Shingo and I ended up being in the first row and Shingo even got to shake a few of their hands as they headed into the crowd to do their last song! Finally, up last was Gnarls Barkley. I didn't stay for much of their performance, but from what I did see they did great. It was such a fun day.
I have such an appreciation for concerts. I can't wait to go to more!

So we "ended up" in the front row huh? More like we forced our way up there...only to have Mark sit right in front of our faces to play drums, which was a little awkward....oh such good times!
